Build a Career in Private Investigation

Red Eye Investigations offers a structured internship and training program designed to take you from no experience to a fully licensed Florida Class C Private Investigator.

Why Red Eye

A Real Path, Not Just a Job Posting.

Most people who want to become private investigators have no idea where to start. Florida requires a 2-year supervised work history before you can apply for your Class C license -- meaning you can't just study and test your way in.

Our internship program solves that problem. You work under our licensed agency, accumulate the required hours, receive hands-on mentorship, and leave the program with everything you need to pass the state exam and register your license.

We accept candidates with backgrounds in military service, combat experience, legal fields, security, and motivated individuals with no prior experience who demonstrate the right character.

How the Program Works

From Application to Licensed PI

Florida's Class C Private Investigator license requires demonstrated competency and supervised experience. Our program is built around that requirement -- giving you the skills, hours, and documentation you need to get licensed.

1

Application & Interview

Submit your application and complete an interview with our team. We evaluate character, communication skills, and your ability to operate with discretion. Prior experience in military, combat, legal, security, or related fields is a plus -- but not required.

2

Orientation & Legal Foundation

Your first phase covers Florida PI law (Chapter 493, Florida Statutes), ethical guidelines, evidence chain-of-custody, privacy law, and the legal limits of investigation. You'll understand what investigators can and cannot do under Florida law before you ever step into the field.

3

State Exam Preparation

We provide study materials, practice exams, and direct coaching to help you pass the Florida Class C Private Investigator examination administered through Pearson VUE. Topics include Florida PI statutes, investigative techniques, report writing, and professional standards. We cover the exam content systematically so there are no surprises.

4

Active Internship -- Field Skills

The core of the program. Working under licensed investigators on active cases, you develop surveillance skills (mobile and stationary), report writing, skip tracing methodology, evidence documentation, photography and video techniques, and database research. Every assignment is supervised and documented toward your 2-year requirement.

Mobile Surveillance Report Writing Skip Tracing Evidence Handling Database Research Photography Interview Techniques Courtroom Prep
5

License Registration with the State

Upon completing your 2-year supervised internship and passing the state exam, we assist you through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) application process for your Class C Private Investigator license. This includes documentation review, fingerprinting, background check coordination, and application submission. We stay with you through approval.

6

Career Pathway

Graduates of our program who become licensed PIs are considered for full-time investigator roles with Red Eye Investigations. Those who choose to open their own agency leave with a complete operational foundation -- casework experience, legal knowledge, and professional references.
